Two-alarm fire hits Quincy auto repair shop
A two-alarm fire swept through an auto mechanic garage in north Quincy Thursday night, fire officials said.
The fire at 431 Hancock St. was reported at about 7:05 p.m. There were no injuries.
There were four cars inside the garage and one outside at the time, Deputy Fire Chief Gary Smyth said.
He said the fire may have been sparked by work an employee was doing on one of the cars. The fire is not considered suspicious, Smyth said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Smyth said.
