A shark was spotted in the waters off Race Point Beach Thursday around 3:45 p.m., according to the Cape Cod National Seashore.

The water was closed to swimmers.

It was one of at least 11 shark sightings reported on the Cape by late Thursday afternoon, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity website and app.

The sightings and the Race Point Beach closure came a day after a man was bitten by a shark at Long Nook Beach in Truro.
