Power outages close Maverick Station, delay Blue, Orange, and Green lines

A power outage near downtown Boston on Thursday evening closed Maverick Station in East Boston and caused delays on the rest of the Blue Line, as well on the Orange and Green lines, MBTA officials said.

The power outage happened about 7:30 p.m. and caused signal system interruptions on the three subway lines. The Red Line was not affected, according to MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo.

Trains are moving, but officials said to expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Blue Line trains are bypassing Maverick Station, and a shuttle bus is taking passengers from the station to Airport Station, the MBTA said in a tweet about 8:30 p.m.
