    Boston police fugitive unit arrests East Boston murder suspect in New Hampshire

    The Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested a New Hampshire man Thursday on charges of murdering a man in East Boston in June, police said.

    Boston police worked with the US Marshals Service and Nashua police to find and arrest 29-year-old Jeremy Menendez of Nashua, N.H., police said. He was charged with murder.

    The victim was Taquise Johnson, 29, of Boston. Menendez shot Johnson multiple times on June 1 in an open-air garage in the area of 800 Border St. in East Boston, which houses the Shore Plaza East apartment complex where Johnson allegedly lived.


    Officers found Johnson suffering from those gunshot wounds around 11:53 p.m. after receiving a report of shots fired. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

    Police said at the time that Johnson had been targeted by his killer.

    Authorities did not release any additional information on Menendez’s arrest.

    Boston police detectives are continuing to investigate the murder, and they ask that anyone with additional information call them at 617-343-4470.
