Boston firefighters battled a house fire at a single-family home in West Roxbury early Saturday, leaving one resident displaced, according to the fire department.

The fire began at about 2:53 a.m. at the one-story home at 59 Chellman St., located on the corner of Veterans of Foreign Wars Parkway and Chellman Street.

The fire was knocked down in less than an hour, the fire department wrote on Twitter. The home has an estimated $250,000 in damages.

One person inside the home “safely evacuated” and was evaluated by Boston Emergency Medical Services. There were no reported injuries, said the fire department.

On the City of Boston Assessor’s website, the home is listed as a ranch-style house with two bedrooms and one bathroom.
