The Boston Public Library is betting the New York Public Library that the Red Sox will beat the Yankees in the American League Division Series.
Betting literature, food, and pride, that is.
In accordance with the bet, the losing team’s library will have to make a list of recommended books about the winning team’s city and promote it, according to social media posts from both libraries.

There’s more than a list of recommended books on the line — the losing team’s library president will also have to don the winning team’s cap, according to a statement from the New York Public Library.

And food.
If the Sox win, Boston Public Library officials will receive New York bagels. If the Yankees win, New York Public Library officials will receive Boston cream pies.
The first game of the best-of-five series is being played Friday evening at Fenway Park.
