Firefighters put out 2-alarm house fire in Watertown

Firefighters put out a two-alarm house fire on Spruce Street in Watertown early Friday morning.

Watertown Fire Chief Robert J. Quinn said firefighters responded to 145 Spruce St. around 1:24 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

“All residents evacuated upon our arrival,” Quinn said.

Quinn said the top floor of the three-story wood-frame house sustained extensive smoke, water, and fire damage. The second floor was also damaged, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
