Boston police officers arrested a Dorchester man early Friday morning after they saw him wearing a woman’s purse that had been reported stolen moments before, police said.
Officers were on patrol in the area of 48 Warren St. in Roxbury around 2:30 a.m. when a woman approached them and told them that two men and a woman had assaulted her and stolen her purse, Boston police said in a statement.
While searching the area, officers found a group of three people that matched the description of the assailants given by the woman. One of the men in the group, later identified as Dorall Hilton, 26, was wearing the purse that the victim said had been stolen from her, police said.
Hilton was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery, unarmed assault to rob, and receiving stolen property. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, police said.Andres Picon can be reached at email@example.com. Follow him on Twitter at @andpicon.
