Woman allegedly stabs other woman in leg, leaves her on road in Bridgewater
A woman allegedly stabbed another woman in the leg Saturday afternoon and left her on the side of the road on a Route 24 ramp in Bridgewater, State Police said.
The 36-year-old East Falmouth suspect, whose name was not released in accordance with the state’s domestic violence law, eluded police for a short period of time until she was found and arrested at a motel on Route 1, in Foxborough.
She was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and second offense of assault and battery on a family or household member, State Police spokesman David Procopio said in an e-mail.
The victim, a 32-year-old woman from Saugus, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The incident unfolded around 1:30 p.m. when troopers responded to 911 calls reporting an assault on the Route 24 northbound ramp onto Interstate 495 northbound.
A 2019 Jeep Cherokee had stopped on the ramp and two women got out, then one of them got back in and fled, according to witnesses, Procopio said.
State Police broadcast a look-out alert for the vehicle and located the East Falmouth woman soon after.
Procopio said, “The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.”
