Three subway lines faced delays after power surge knocked out electricity in downtown Boston early Sunday morning, according to the MBTA.
The 1 a.m. power surge took down the Blue, Orange, and Green Lines downtown, delaying the last outbound trips of the night and impacting morning service, said Joe Pesaturo, a T spokesman, in an e-mail.
Power was later restored, but delays marred Orange Line service until 7 a.m. and Blue Line service until 7:45 a.m., he said. The Green Line was not affected Sunday morning.
The cause of the outage is under investigation, Pesaturo said.Lucas Phillips can be reached at email@example.com.
