Three Uxbridge men rescued after skiing off course in Vermont

Authorities spent several hours rescuing three Uxbridge men who got lost in the woods after skiing out of bounds off a mountain in Vermont Saturday afternoon, officials said.

One of the men reported to State Police at about 3:30 p.m. that he and his two friends had skied off the trail on Killington Mountain and were lost, Vermont State Police said in a press release. No injuries were reported.

Based on information given by one of the skiers, State Police troopers found the men in the area of Wheelerville Road in Mendon, Vt., which is “the usual spot for lost skiers to return after they ski off the marked trails from the top of Killington,” the release stated.
