Man fatally stabbed last week in Palmer identified as 43-year-old man

A man who was fatally stabbed in Palmer last week was identified Monday as Michael Strindberg, 43, authorities said.

Strindberg, who lived in Palmer, was found with multiple stab wounds at 321 River Road on Dec. 13. He was taken to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Robert Nompleggi, 62, was taken into custody at the scene and arraigned in Palmer District Court on Dec. 14 on charges of murder, intimidation of a witness, and violating a restraining order, the statement said.

He is being held without bail, officials said.
