FedEx truck rolls over onto roof on I-95 in Westwood, spills packages on side of road

A FedEx box truck rolled over onto its roof Monday morning in Westwood after driving through a metal barrier on Interstate 95 Northbound, spilling several packages on the side of the road, according to Massachusetts State Police and Westwood fire officials.

The driver, a 24-year-old Brockton man, was taken to Norwood Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, State Police Lieutenant Tom Ryan said.

Two right lanes between Exit 13 and 14 were closed immediately after the crash at 9:45 a.m. to allot time for the truck’s removal, but at 11:30 a.m. all lanes were reopened, Ryan said.

The truck’s roof ripped open, letting several packages escape from the inside, according to a photo the Westwood Fire Department posted on Twitter.
