2 injured within a day at Nashoba Valley Ski Area
A man and a boy were injured in two incidents within 24 hours at the Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford, fire officials said.
The man, 18, suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon after he was “skiing down the hill, went over a jump, and landed on his back,” Westford Fire Captain James Barrett said. The Fire Department received a call from the ski patrol at 12:31 p.m. and took the man to Lowell General Hospital as a precautionary measure, Barrett said.
A 9-year-old boy sustained “suspected trauma” Thursday afternoon after falling off a chairlift at the ski area, Barrett said. Westford firefighters received the call around 3:41 p.m. The boy was taken by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Barrett didn’t have any further information on the boy’s injuries.
The ski area didn’t respond to messages seeking comment.
