Female shot in Lawrence, injuries life-threatening

A female was shot and suffered life threatening injuries in Lawrence Friday night, officials said.

The victim was shot at 9:07 p.m. at 329 High St., Lawrence Police Lieutenant James Raso said.

She was initially taken to Lawrence General Hospital, then rushed to a Boston hospital, according to a statement from Lawrence police.

The victim’s age was not immediately disclosed.

The Essex district attorney’s office is responding to the shooting, Carrie Kimball-Monahan, spokesperson for the office, said in a statement to the Globe.

No further information was available.
