Four hospitalized in Cape Cod crash

Three children and one adult were hospitalized after a rear-end crash Thursday evening in the Cape Cod town of Marstons Mills, officials said.

One adult and one child were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries and two children were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a statement from the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills fire department.

One person declined to be treated.


Fire officials received a report of a two-car crash with multiple injuries near Route 28 between South County Road and Route 149 at about 5 p.m., the statement said.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel began treating the five people involved in the crash and requested two additional ambulances, officials said.

Fire officials cleaned up a “significant fluid spill” from one of the car’s involved, according to the statement.

Cotuit fire officials also responded to the crash. Barnstable police are investigating.
