Man stopped for having snow on top of car arrested on outstanding warrants in Millbury

A man stopped for driving with too much snow and ice atop his car was arrested in Millbury Tuesday for operating with a suspended license and warrants for larceny and shoplifting, State Police said.

Joshua Mellen, 31, of Uxbridge was pulled over on Route 146 north at about 5:50 p.m. after a trooper noticed his Honda Odyssey minivan had snow and ice on top, State Police said in a statement Wednesday.

After he was pulled over, Mellen was unable to produce a valid driver’s license and provided two false names and a false date of birth. A check with the registry revealed that his license was suspended and that he was the subject of four warrants out of Worcester and Leominster district courts, State Police said.

Mellen was transported to the State Police Millbury Barracks . He was booked for his four warrants, a second offense of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, refusing to identify himself, and impeded operation of a motor vehicle.
