The pedestrian who was struck by a car on a busy street in West Roxbury Tuesday afternoon has died, Boston police confirmed Wednesday.
The woman was crossing the street near the intersection of Centre and Hastings streets when she was struck, authorities say.
Witnesses of the crash’s aftermath described seeing the woman unconscious on the pavement and the driver of the car that hit her trying to render aid to the victim.
The woman was taken from the scene to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Boston police spokeswoman Maisha Miraj said.
The investigation is active, Miraj said.
