    Two Lawrence teens shot at house party

    Two 18-year-olds were shot at a house party in Lawrence shortly after midnight Saturday and suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

    Lawrence police responded to a report of a fight and shots fired at a house party on Lexington Street, police said in a press release.

    Police arrived to find a large crowd in the street. An “altercation” had occurred in the basement and spilled into the street, the release said.


    While dispersing the crowd, police learned that two men had been shot and had gone to local hospitals for treatment of gunshot wounds.

    One of them teens went to Lawrence General Hospital, and the other to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, according to police.

    Their conditions were not known Sunday.

    Police are investigating, but do not believe the shootings were random, the release said.
