Tuesday will be very cold, and more snow and ice are coming our way.

“Bundle up as you head out the door this morning; temperatures are in the single digits and teens! Watch out for any slick spots left over from yesterday’s wet weather,” forecasters tweeted.

The expected high in Boston on Tuesday will be 28 degrees, with a wind chill likely to make things feel nearly 10 degrees colder. It will be mostly sunny and windy through the day, the National Weather Service said.

Massachusetts could get its second winter storm in a week on Wednesday afternoon, when most of the state will get at least an inch of snowfall, likely followed by several hours of sleet and freezing rain.

Weather service forecasters are predicting “a messy one” will roll through the region, with winter precipitation starting late in the afternoon and carrying on into Thursday morning.

“Be cautious of icy roads overnight into the [Thursday] commute,” forecasters warned.

Timing of the snow is not certain yet, the weather service said, but precipitation is likely to begin after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

As of Tuesday morning, the weather service was predicting 1-2 inches of snowfall during the course of the storm for most of Massachusetts, with a slightly higher prediction for the North Shore, which could get up to 3 inches.

Rain and freezing rain are likely on Thursday, and it will be not as cool, with highs in the upper 40s.

Forecasters said another round of a wintry precipitation is possible Saturday night into Sunday.
