    Five people, including children, injured in Ludlow crash

    Five people, including young children, were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in the Western Massachusetts town of Ludlow Wednesday afternoon, police said.

    Multiple ambulances responded to the crash that took place at about 2:50 p.m. at Russell Street and Shawinigan Drive, Ludlow police said in a statement.

    The five injured were taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Their conditions were not known Wednesday night.


    The cause of the crash is being investigated.

    A spokesman for Ludlow police deferred comment to the Hampden district attorney’s office.

    Officials at the DA’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
