Maine Medical Center is having its own baby boom — right in its labor and delivery unit.

Nine nurses in the Portland, Maine, hospital’s labor and delivery department are expected to give birth between April and July, Maine Medical Center officials posted on Facebook.

“After each one of us started to say, ‘We’re pregnant,’ I think it was a happier announcement each time, and we’re all there for each other,’” nurse Erin Grenier told WMUR.

Another one of the nurses, Brittney Verville, joked on Facebook about their collective pregnancies.

“Something is definitely in the water here at Maine Medical Center on the Labor and Delivery Unit!” Verville wrote. “Lots of baby friends being made this summer!”

They all plan on being there for each other’s deliveries, according to WMUR, and have supported each other along the way.

“It’s really nice coming to work and seeing other people who are just as pregnant and watching their bellies pop and just talking about these experiences that we are going through together,” nurse Amanda Spear told WMUR.
