Traffic backed up after earlier tractor-trailer rollover on Interstate 495

Traffic was at a complete standstill for part of Thursday afternoon on Interstate 495 southbound in Andover after a tractor-trailer rollover.

Two of three lanes had been reopened as of 6:10 p.m., according to Andover Fire Rescue.

As of 5:45 p.m., traffic was getting by only in the breakdown lane, State Police tweeted. Previously, all lanes were closed.

The truck rolled over as it took the exit from I-93 onto I-495 south. There were no hazardous materials on board and no other vehicles were involved, according to Andover Fire Rescue.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said.
