Massachusetts teenager injured in off-road vehicle accident in New Hampshire in ‘very critical condition’

A 14-year-old girl from Massachusetts was seriously injured in an off-road vehicle accident in Francestown, N.H. on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

A 49-year-old resident was driving a Textron Stampede X utility vehicle and the victim was riding in the passenger seat when the accident occurred off Bible Hill Road at approximately 1:50 p.m. Sunday, officials said.

They were riding “across a sloped section of lawn” when the UTV flipped over on its side and pinned the victim, according to Colonel Kevin Jordan of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Neither of them were wearing seatbelts or helmets, he said.

The victim suffered “severe head injuries” and was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where she was in “very critical condition,” said Jordan.
