Two men from Poland were killed in a rollover crash in Attleboro Saturday after they and nine other passengers were ejected from a tour van , officials said Tuesday.

Leslaw Mastej, 42, and Jaroslaw Nowak, 49, were both killed in the crash that occurred at about 11:05 a.m. on Interstate 95 near exit 3, State Police said in a statement released Tuesday.

The nine other occupants also sustained injuries, many of which were serious, officials said. The passengers include a 67-year-old man from New York City, N.Y.; a 48-year-old man and 52-year-old woman, both from Wallington, N.J.; a 44-year-old man from Garfield, N.J.; a 42-year-old woman and a 47-year-old woman, both from Poland; and a 62-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, both from Philadelphia, the statement said.

The driver of the van, a 62-year-old Lawrenceville, N.J., man was also injured in the crash.

“The van was operating as part of a tour group that caters to Polish and Polish-American communities,” the statement said.

The crash occurred when the van, a 2004 Ford Econoline, was struck by a 2018 Toyota RAV4 while both were traveling north in adjacent lanes, the statement said. The van rolled over and crashed in the southbound lanes after both vehicles crossed over the median lane. The Toyota did not roll over and came to rest in the breakdown lane of the southbound lanes of the highway, according to the statement.

The driver of the Toyota, a 32-year-old woman from Providence, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, the statement said.

The van, which is owned by Ampol Inc., a tour company based in Trenton, N.J., was on its way to visit “scenic areas” of Massachusetts, according to the statement. Passengers may have been picked up in Philadelphia, New York City, N.Y., and multiple towns in New Jersey, including Trenton, Linden, and Wallington, according to State Police.
