Milton police search for man who allegedly robbed liquor store at gunpoint

Milton police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a liquor store at gunpoint and fled the scene Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect is described as being a heavy-set black man who is about 40 years old. He was wearing a black T-shirt at the time of the alleged robbery, according to Milton Deputy Police Chief James O’Neil.

Police received a call at about 1:24 p.m. Wednesday for the panic alarm going off at Central Liquor Mart at 26 Central Ave. in Milton, O’Neil said. On their way to the scene, officers were told by dispatch that the store had been robbed at gunpoint, he said.

“He came into the store, sort of pretended that he was going to purchase a product, and then he brandished a firearm and he robbed the store of US currency,” O’Neil said.

The suspect fled the store on foot, O’Neil said.
