A 21-year-old man was fatally shot early Tuesday in Brockton, authorities said.
Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz’s office identified the victim as Fabio Vega-Nunes of Brockton. Police were called to the area of 15 Sprague St. around 12:48 a.m. for a report of “multiple gunshots” fired, Cruz’s office said in a statement.
First responders found Vega-Nunes with gunshot wounds inside his vehicle, according to Cruz’s office.
“Lifesaving measures were conducted before the victim was pronounced dead at the scene,” the statement said.
No details about a possible suspect or motive were released.
Vega-Nunes’s death was the fourth homicide in Brockton in 2019. Last year, there were nine homicides in the city, authorities said.
Prosecutors urged anyone with information about the case to “contact Brockton Police or State Police Detectives at 508-894-2600,” Cruz’s office said.
