Child care center to anchor new Andover development

The builders of a planned new retail center in Andover recently announced an agreement with The Learning Experience to have one of the company’s child care centers anchor the development.

Minuteman Retail Park will encompass 25,800 square feet of retail space at the intersection of Minuteman Drive and River Road, according to The Brickstone Companies, the Andover-based firm that is serving as the project developer, and Nordlund Associates, the Danvers-based firm that is leasing the future space.

Under the agreement, The Learning Experience has signed on to lease a 10,000-square-foot stand-alone anchor building that Brickstone will be constructing.

Nordlund Associates is currently seeking tenants for the remaining spaces of the planned development: a 5,000-square-foot commercial building envisioned for a restaurant, and 10,800 square feet of retail space in a third building.

The development team notes that the site offers advantages such as close proximity to two business parks — Minuteman Park and Technology Five — as well as Interstate 93 and the Andover commuter rail station.

The development is projected to be completed in the the fall of 2019, according to Thomas Blaisdell, vice president of retail for Nordlund.
