BANGOR, Maine — Brent Cross, son of the founder of Cross Insurance, died after a battle with cancer. He was 58.
Mr. Cross joined his father's business in 1979 and served as executive vice president, supervising the company's expansion over the past four decades from one office to more than 30 locations throughout New England.
A company spokeswoman said he died on Thanksgiving.
The Bangor native and Husson University graduate helped to facilitate partnerships with the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins. The Cross Insurance Center in Bangor and Cross Civic Center in Portland bear the company's name.
Mr. Cross leaves his wife, five children, four siblings, and his father, 98-year-old Woodrow Cross.
