Rebuilding Together Lowell is accepting applications from low-income, elderly, or disabled homeowners who need home repairs, with preference given to veterans. Work is done at no cost to the homeowner, using donated materials and performed by volunteers who handle interior and exterior painting, yard work, and wall, roof, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Since 1997, Rebuilding Together Lowell has completed almost $1 million worth of repairs on about 140 houses, totaling 25,000 hours of work by 4,000-plus volunteers. To download an application, visit rtlowell.org. Applications are also available at the Lowell Senior Center, the Office of Neighborhood Services,  and the mayor’s office at Lowell City Hall. Private donations from businesses and individuals are also always welcome.
