Seniors looking to save money on property taxes have an opportunity to do so through the Dracut Senior Citizens Property Tax Work Off Program 2013. Eligible participants can put in 62.5 hours of work in exchange for a $500 reduction in next year’s property tax bill. Applicants need to be at least 60 years old, a homeowner or current spouse of a homeowner, a resident of Dracut, and retired or not working as of Jan. 1, 2013. Interested citizens can apply at the Dracut Council On Aging, 951 Mammoth Road, and must present a tax return. Eligible applicants will be entered into a lottery, with selected participants being notified in January. For more information, visit dracut-ma.us/council-on-aging.
