Review of high school proposal postponed

The state’s review of the town’s proposal for the Winchester High School building project has been postponed two months, from Jan. 30 to April 3, 2013, giving the town’s Educational Facilities Planning and Building Committee more time to finalize its preferred schematic report, which had originally been due last Thursday. The new deadline for the report is Feb. 14, 2013. The change is due to comments received by the state on the town’s most recent Preliminary Design Program submission, according to a written statement by School Superintendent William McAlduff Jr. Based on these notes, local officials will provide the state with greater detail on the educational program summary and site selection components of the proposed project. It is unclear whether the current delay will affect the project’s timeline, which had been slated for completion in September 2019.
