North Reading

Food pantry seeks donations

The North Reading Food Pantry needs volunteers and donations. One local food pantry family is in need of gently used girl’s clothes, size 4T. Other items needed this month include: laundry detergent; baked beans; juice-box drinks made with 100 percent juice; canned fruit; cereal (all kinds); soup (not tomato or vegetable); ramen noodles; tea, cooking oil; mayonnaise; salad dressing; cake mix; frosting; brownie mix; shampoo; and diapers (size 5). Individuals who wish to donate items may drop them off at Town Hall, Flint Memorial Library, or the post office, Stop & Shop, or Walgreen’s. Run by the Christian Community Service of North Reading, the food pantry is a nonprofit organization. Housed at Town Hall, 235 North St., the pantry is open 9 to 10 a.m. every Monday and from 7 to 8 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month. For more information, call 978-276-0040 or visit the food pantry’s website at
