    Chris Bardwell , North Andover: A transfer from Central Catholic, the senior forward is off to a white-hot start for the Knights. He scored 18 points against (66-42 win), 25 more against Haverhill (55-44 victory), and then buried Billerica (84-65 win) with 30.


    Anthony Gilardi , Malden: In a thrilling season opener, the sophomore erupted for 44 points to lead the Golden Tornadoes to a 98-48 thrashing of Winthrop.

    Morgan Lumb , North Andover: While the senior guard scored just three points in the season opener, she dished out 10 assists to lead the Knights past Tewksbury. On Tuesday, Lumb found her scoring touch, netting 22 points, along with five rebounds and five steals in a 71-20 victory over Lawrence.

    Deidra Newson , Lynn English: She nearly notched a triple-double, scoring 15 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and recording 8 assists in the Bulldogs’ 55-38 win against Salem.

    Sam Dowden, a 6-foot-5 senior forward, wasted little time getting started this season: he scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Golden Warriors’ season opener. He scored 20 more in a win over Brockton. On Friday, Jan. 4, Dowden and Andover take on Merrimack Valley Conference foe Lowell, which outscored Dracut and Haverhill 154-73 in the first two games of the season.
