Donations sought for war memorial

The Wenham War Memorial Committee is seeking $75,000 in donations for a granite war memorial monument scheduled to be erected on the “car barn” lot on the corner of Main and Arbor streets in fall 2013. The committee has already raised approximately $122,000 toward the memorial, which will feature the names of veterans who entered the service from Wenham during World War I, World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, and space will be left on the memorial to include the names of veterans serving in present and future conflicts. Donations are tax-deductible and checks may be made payable to “Veteran’s War Memorial Gift Fund,” and mailed to Town of Wenham, War Memorial Fund, 138 Main St., Wenham, MA 01984.
