Program encourages girls to be entrepreneurs

Girls Inc. of the Seacoast Area, a program of the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center, is offering a program to encourage girls to explore the possibility of owning their own business. Girls Inc.’s “Exploring Entrepreneurial Experiences” is a pilot program designed specifically for girls ages 12 to 15 who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs to address social problems. The program will be offered at the Newburyport Public Library, 94 State St., from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Jan. 12. The event is free but space is limited; advance registration is required. Participants must stay for the entire workshop. For more information or to reserve a seat for this pilot program, call 978-465-1268.
