The School Board has voted to build a new junior-senior high school rather than renovate the current building. The price of a new school has been estimated at $47.2 million while the cost of renovating and expanding the current school is $44.3 million. The vote does not necessarily mean the school will be built; town officials are still negotiating with the Oyster River School District to see if an agreement can be made to send Newmarket high school students to Durham High School rather than build a new facility.
High school will not be rehabilitated
