Town reminds dog owners to license pets

Town Clerk Maria Sagarino has a couple of reminders for Stoneham residents. It’s now time for owners to license their dogs for 2013, she said. Under state law, dogs six months or older must be licensed each year. To complete the process, dog owners must provide the town clerk’s office with proof of current rabies vaccination, unless such proof is already on file, Sagarino said. The deadline is March 31. The fee is $10 for spayed and neutered dogs and $20 for those not spayed or neutered. A late fee of $10 will be assessed as of April 1. Licensing may be done by mail or in person during the town clerk’s office hours, Sagarino noted. Residents are also reminded to take a moment to look over the annual street list that recently was sent out to all households in Stoneham, make any necessary changes, and return it to the town clerk’s office. For more information call the town clerk’s office at 781 279-2650.
