Meeting to determine apartment construction

At its meeting Thursday, the Planning Board is scheduled to continue a public hearing that began Jan. 17 on a proposal by Nordblom to construct a 201-unit apartment building at 32 2nd Ave. in Northwest Park, a business park off Middlesex Turnpike. Nordblom Development Co. is seeking three special permits for the housing, according to Don Benjamin, the town’s senior planner. The project is part of Third Avenue, Nordblom’s ongoing redevelopment of Third Avenue and surrounding streets. In other business, the board will open a hearing into an application by Caleb and Kareena Kirby for approval of a two-lot subdivision plan for 50 Margaret St. The board will also open a hearing into an application by A.J. Rose for approval of a site plan to construct a 2,500-square-foot addition to an existing carpeting and flooring business at 138 Cambridge St. The addition would be used for warehouse space. Also, the board will open a hearing into a special permit application by Clover Fast Food Inc., a Boston-area company, to open a fast-order food establishment at 100 Burlington Mall Road, within an existing shopping center. The board is also set to discuss a proposed amendment to the town’s zoning bylaws regarding rules for structured parking.
