Scholarship applications available


Applications for the needs-based scholarships to be awarded by the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield for the 2013-2014 academic year are now available. The nonprofit foundation administers scholarships to assist recipients with their full-time education beyond high school. Anyone, regardless of age, who is a Wakefield resident, plans to be a full-time student in 2013-2014, and shows financial need, is eligible to apply. Last year, the foundation awarded $435,000 in scholarships. Applications can be downloaded from They are also available at the Wakefield High School guidance office, at the Beebe Memorial Library’s career room, at Americal Civic Center, and in the guidance offices of the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School and some area private and parochial schools.
