Senate president wants to end tolls 0n Route 3

New Hampshire state Senate President Peter Bragdon, a Milford Republican, is leading the charge to eliminate the three toll booths in town. The toll plazas at exits 10, 11, and 12 on Route 3 were constructed 24 years ago, after the town accepted $50 million in road improvements to help promote industrial development. They raise about $2.5 million a year for the state. At a recent meeting of the Merrimack Town Council Bragdon announced his intention to introduce legislation to eliminate the tolls.
