Blacksmith shop to be renovated

The Planning Board has approved a plan to renovate a historic blacksmith shop and build four town houses on the waterfront. The approval allows developer Tim Nichols to create a mixed-use development at 13 Water St.. Plans call for Nichols to renovate the former F.E. Lang Blacksmith shop, which has been empty since Joyce’s Kitchen closed in 2008, to create office space and four town houses at the site. Work is expected to begin in the spring,
