The Winchester In Transition community conference, postponed from Feb. 9 because of the blizzard, has been rescheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Winchester Town Hall auditorium, 71 Mount Vernon St. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. for those not registered for the originally scheduled date. Sponsored by the Winchester Multicultural Network, this half-day conference will give residents an opportunity to come together for discussions about four topics. Professional facilitators will lead one-hour sessions, continuing the community conversation that began last February at Winchester in Transition 2012, when about 150 residents gathered to address 10 challenging and sensitive subjects. Participants can take part in two of four sessions on accessibility, stress, class, and demographics. Longtime Winchester resident Sol Gittleman, a Tufts University professor and historian of American immigration, will offer opening remarks. His keynote address will focus on what Winchester was like in the 1960s and how the town has changed. The event is free thanks to support provided by Community Health Network Area 15, the Disability Access Commission, and the Winchester School of Chinese Culture.
