April 1 is the last day to return nomination papers to the Middleton town clerk’s office to be included on the ballot for the May 20 annual town election. Voters will select candidates for moderator, selectman (two), constable, assessor, the Elementary School Committee (two), the Masconomet Regional School Committee, Planning Board, Electric Light Commission, library trustees, and Housing Authority. Thus far, only one incumbent has announced that she is not running for reelection: Planning Board member Leah Moreschi. To be listed on the ballot, a candidate must return the nomination papers with the signatures of at least 35 registered voters to the town clerk’s office in Memorial Hall, South Main Street.
