Town Manager Richard Montuori this week presented a revised plan for water and sewer rates for fiscal 2014. Under the plan, water rates will rise 2 percent and sewer rates 8 percent. A water user consuming the 55,000-gallon Tewksbury average would pay an annual bill of $433.43, an increase of $8.41. Based on that same volume, a sewer user would pay $431.48, an increase of $31.75. Based on the state average of 90,000 gallons, a water user would pay $828.88, an increase of $16.26, while a sewer user would pay $816.98, an increase of $60.20. Montuori said the increases are needed to keep pace with a rise in operating costs. Selectmen were expected to approve the rates at their meeting this past Tuesday.
