STEAM Academy to require uniforms

Malden’s Linden STEAM Academy will require uniforms for students next year, according to its principal. The details of the uniform policy still need to be worked out, but the school’s board approved the rule in a 10-3 vote, according to a letter sent to parents by Richard Bransfield. A public school that serves kindergarten through eighth grade, Linden became Malden’s first “innovation” school last year, which gives it autonomy similar to a charter school, though it is still within the public school system. The rest of Malden’s public schools are also considering a uniform policy.
