Church to host candidate forum

A candidate forum for the special election race for state representative in the 28th Middlesex district will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the parish hall of Immaculate Conception Church, 489 Broadway. The three candidates on the ballot of the April 2 special election — independents Rosa DiFlorio and Dennis Gianatassio and Democrat Wayne Matewsky — all plan to attend. Questions will focus on funding public transportation, immigration reform at the state level, and living wage legislation. The race is to fill the seat that became vacant due to the resignation of Stephen “Stat” Smith on Jan. 1. The district encompasses the city of Everett.
