College offers low-cost lunch to the public

North Shore Community College is inviting area residents to take advantage of a low-cost lunch option. Students in the college’s culinary arts program are again offering four-course $5 lunch meals at their Scholar’s Den Café, located in Berry Hall on the Essex Agricultural and Technical High School campus, 562 Maple St. The program is offered by the college each spring and fall to provide its students an opportunity to gain experience serving the public. This spring’s lunches, which began Feb. 27, are being served Wednesdays and Thursdays through May 8. The student-prepared meals include soup, salad, choice of entrée, and choice of dessert. Fresh baked goods are also available. Seating is limited, so reservations are required. They can be made for either 11 a.m. or 11:45 a.m. by calling 978-762-4000, ext. 1538.
