Commission honors Council on Aging director

Nancy Williams, director of Winthrop’s Council on Aging, has earned recognition on Beacon Hill for her contributions to the community. The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women has selected Williams as one of its “Unsung Heroines” for 2013. The commission annually honors as unsung heroines women who regularly perform unheralded acts that make their communities better places to live. She and this year’s other heroines will be honored at an April 29 ceremony at the State House.
