Newburyport Youth Services is seeking student athletes 13 years and older for a youth triathlon team. Members of the team must have a road bike and will train for individual and team competitions slated to take place this spring and summer. Team members also will participate in other competitive events, including open-water swimming, running, and cycling. The team will focus on the long-term benefits of endurance training and healthy lifestyle choices. Anyone interested in joining the team or becoming a volunteer coach or trainer is invited to attend an information session from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kelley School Youth Center on High Street. The fee for team members is $325 for the season, which runs from April 22 to July 13. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
